Minnesota sent a strong contingent to the 2025 USRK gathering in Cocoa Beach, Florida

This past weekend, USRK USA held its annual all-ranks gathering in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and the surrounding area. Our Minnesota dojo sent a delegation of seven to participate in training, research, and friendship with members of dojo from around the country and across the world. We bonded with our fellow karateka over sunrise workouts, moonlit workouts, beach workouts, and “the ecstasy of sweating in hard work”, as Master Nagamine said. Expect to hear a lot about stepping first, putting your shoulders back and down, and the effectiveness of visualizing as a learning tool.

The event is held each year at the start of February. Members of our dojo who might want to attend in future years should talk to the Shihan or other upper-belts in our two Northfield dojo. If the Karate Club wants to organize a group, they would be strongly encouraged and most welcome!

Domo arigato gozaimasu to Hanshi Robert Scaglione, all the Florida Shihan and Sensei who helped host the event, and to all the Kyoshi, Sensei, Sempai, and Deshi from across the USRK system for their shared wisdom and hard work this weekend.
